Airlines, states, and destination countries each set their own rules for traveling pets, and they rarely match up neatly. A health certificate typically has to be signed within a strict window before departure, rabies documentation has to be current and sometimes translated, and some destinations add requirements like a microchip or specific lab work before they'll allow a dog or cat to enter. The single most important step for any of it is starting early — some destinations require months of lead time to meet their requirements, and there's no way to compress that timeline once you're close to your travel date.

When you come in for a travel appointment, we perform a travel-readiness exam, issue the certificates your airline or destination requires, and check your pet's vaccination timing against your actual itinerary so nothing expires mid-trip. We'll also walk you through what your specific destination expects, since requirements can differ sharply from one state or country to the next — and we plan for the trip home as well as the trip out, since return requirements sometimes catch owners by surprise.
