Do you see cats of all ages?
Yes. We care for kittens from their first visit through senior and geriatric years, and we adjust everything from vaccine schedules to lab work to each life stage. If you have just adopted a cat and are not sure what they need, book a wellness exam and we will map it out together.
How often should my cat see a veterinarian?
Healthy adult cats should be examined once a year. Kittens need a series of visits in their first few months, and cats over about ten years old benefit from exams every six months, because kidney disease, thyroid disease, and arthritis are common in seniors and far easier to manage when caught early.
Can my cat be seen the same day if they are sick?
Usually, yes. Call as early in the day as you can and describe what you are seeing. We fit urgent feline cases into the schedule whenever capacity allows, and we will tell you honestly if your cat needs an emergency hospital instead. A male cat straining to urinate is always an emergency.
My cat hates the carrier and the car. How do you keep visits low-stress?
We keep feline exams unhurried, use quiet spaces and towel wraps when they help, and let cats settle before hands-on work. At home, leaving the carrier out with a familiar blanket and covering it during the drive makes a real difference. Ask us about pre-visit calming medication for cats who find travel especially hard.
Does an indoor cat still need vaccines and parasite prevention?
Yes. Rabies vaccination is required by our county regardless of lifestyle, and the core FVRCP vaccine protects against viruses that can arrive on shoes, clothing, or a visiting pet. Fleas and heartworm-carrying mosquitoes get indoors too, so year-round prevention is still the safest plan. We tailor the schedule to your cat's actual risk.
